Boarding and exiting a bus

Section 36 of 41

Before boarding a bus with Glide, switch to indoor navigation. As you approach the door to the bus, reach out with the back of your free hand to locate the handrail. You can lift Glide onto the bus ahead of you, to your side or slightly behind your body. If lifting Glide is not an option for you, ask the driver to extend the ramp so you can Glide forward into the bus.

When you locate your seat, open the bottom latch to collapse the bottom portion of the stem. Face the cameras towards you to respect other passengers’ privacy, and secure Glide’s base between your feet.

When exiting the bus, open the lower latch and fully extend the stem. Glide to the front of the bus and follow it towards the door. With your free hand, locate the handrail. When descending the steps, carefully lower Glide until it is resting on the ground then step down out of the bus yourself. Or, lift Glide and carry it at your side or slightly behind your body as you step off the bus. If lifting Glide is not an option for you, ask the driver to extend the ramp and follow Glide out the door onto the sidewalk. Once you step away from the bus, remember to switch into outdoor navigation.
