Elevators
Section 25 of 41
Entering an elevator
When the elevator doors open, put Glide into ready position on its wheels and follow directly behind the handle as in a narrow pathway. Use your free hand in upper protective technique to locate the door frame as you walk forward. Glide will guide you through the open doors into the elevator. If the elevator is crowded or small, consider putting Glide into standby position facing the door.
Exiting an elevator
When you reach your floor and the elevator door opens, put Glide into ready position on its wheels and follow directly behind the handle as in a narrow pathway. Use your free hand in upper protective technique to locate the door frame as you walk forward. Glide will guide you through the open doors out of the elevator. If Glide will not move forward, the elevator doors may not be open, or you may need to change your alignment to face the opening.
